Registering your Final Draft customer number ensures that you are recognized as the legal owner of the license and that you receive continued customer service and support. If you decide to sell or give away a Final Draft license that is in your name, please complete and return a Transfer of Ownership form. Until this form is completed and received by Final Draft, Inc., the license will be considered property of the person or company to whom it is registered.

To transfer ownership of a Final Draft product license:

1. Verify that your license is registered by calling Final Draft at  800-231-4055.
   
2. Final Draft 7 users - the previous owner must DEACTIVATE their copy of Final Draft before transferring ownership. Final Draft 6 or 5 users must DEAUTHORIZE. You can find instructions on how to do this in our online FAQ pages.
   
3.  Transfer of Ownership form
   Download and print the Transfer of Ownership form using the link above and complete both the seller and the buyer sections.
   
4. Have the seller and the buyer each sign the Transfer of Ownership form.
   
5. Return the completed form by mail or fax to Final Draft, Inc. at:

Transfer of ownership applies to all versions of a product. For example, if you first bought Final Draft version 4, subsequently upgraded to version 5, and then decided to transfer ownership of version 5, you transfer ownership rights to all of your versions of Final Draft, up to and including the current version.

NOTE: Not for Resale (NFR) copies of Final Draft software are not transferable. These versions have a customer number beginning with FDR.
